This project was an extension of my "Gujarati People" project. In this assignment I continued to look at the the same typeface as typographic forms and how I can use them to convey a story.

Going into this project we were given the directions to splay our letters across a 10x10x10 inch handmade box in a dynamic way that uses both positive and negative space to create a proper composition. I knew from the start I wanted to tell a short story using my piece. My final deliverable tells the story of icing being poured onto a cake. I used the curvey and loopy nature of Gujarati to my advantage here. Long, looped, and hooked characters were great for creating 'icing drips'. Other letters were great for overlapping to create the idea of an evenly spread layer of icing.

Typeface: Gujarati MT
